REASON NEXT AND LAST ALBUM ‘THE WINDOW OF TIME’ OUT NOVEMBER 4th AND UPCOMING SHOW DATES
The moment of truth has arrived; and the legacy left behind by Reason will further be entrenched within the history of Australian Hip Hop. Window of Time is to be released Novemeber 4th 2011, and shall lay testament to Reason’s two and a half decades of dedicated service to the hip hop genre.
In typical Reason style, there are guests aplenty throughout the album. Sharing mic duties are emcees and vocalists including Lazy Grey, Bias B, Hau, Dialectrix, Hunter, Iron Braydz (UK), Lotek (UK), AJ (UK), Joyride, KYE, Mdusus, Rachel Berry & Rappaport.
The album is blessed with superb production from Suffa, Debris, Debate, Mdusu, Geko & WIZDM.
‘There is music for all generations throughout the release. Conceptually, the album is for the youth, party goers, intelligentsia, the purists and the recent graduates to this very unique sound. I’ve taken my time, spent painstaking hours refining my lyrics, requesting musical changes and thus the process has in short, been a worthy experience. Like a top shelf scotch, it often takes time for maturity to be achieved.’ Reason

MANTRA TO RELEASE ‘VOODOO MUSIC’
AS 2nd SINGLE
Mantra’s second single from Speaking Volumes will be the electro-charged ‘Voodoo Music’ which credits beats from young Melbourne producer Abztrakt.
This is what Mantra had to say about the track in a recent triple j blog article:
‘One of the album's most bangin' beats for sure. Produced by young buck Abztrakt, this track is all about the flow. I got really funky and loose with my rhyme patterns, trying to put as much movement in my vocal rhythms as possible. Theme-wise, the track is full of wordplay, much of it based around voodoo, black magic and the occult.’ Mantra
View full ‘track by track’ article on triple j’s Home & Hosed Blog by Dom Alessio here: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/homeandhosed/blog/s3331229.htm
Don’t forget to catch Mantra when he hits the road with his brand new live show joined (in selected cities) by the multi-talented Tommy Illfigga. He will be performing tracks off the new album, as well as some old favourites.

SPIT SYNDICATE RELEASE TWO PART
FREE MIX-TAPE SERIES
Following their critically acclaimed 2010 release Exile and after a busy year of touring, Sydney duo Spit Syndicate are back with a brand new online mix-tape project Best Intentions: Part One, the first of a two-part mix-tape series available for free download via online networks Friday 30th September.
Best Intentions sees MCs Nick Lupi and Jimmy Nice return to the mix-tape format from which they first made waves in the local hip-hop scene. Over the course of 9 tracks, Spit Syndicate drape their trademark flair over a range of different sounds, from the boom-bap of Pharoahe Monch to the more eclectic, moody sounds of indie outfit the xx.
Exhibiting their sharpest lyricism yet, the mix-tape series showcases Spit Syndicate’s ability to reinvent a selection of tracks with command and creativity. Just a taste of what’s to come and keen to provide fans with a little something to tie them over, Best Intentions is a prelude to the highly anticipated third album dropping early 2012.
“Best Intentions is a gesture of thanks and gratitude for everyone who’s shown us love and support: a completely free release. We’ve treated it with the same attention that we would a studio record, but there is something about a non-album project that seems to free us up; less over-thinking and more straight-up hip-hop.” - Nick Lupi
For those eager to get their ears wrapped around the outfits new project, sign up to Spit Syndicate’s mailing list and receive Best Intentions: Part One FREE! Just go to www.spitsyndicate.com to download now.
You also can catch the boys live on the Illy/Spit Syndicate/Sietta tour.

CHESS SOUNDS –
FEATURING VARIOUS ARTISTS
OUT OCTOBER 28th
To celebrate the recent opening of the Chess Sounds production house/recording studio, fresh off the back of releasing his debut solo album Game Over, October 28th brings the first instalment of a production compilation series by Ciecmate. Finding time throughout his multiple projects, the renowned MC and producer has stepped back from the microphone to bring the first volume of Chess Sounds, containing all exclusive tracks from some of Australia and the USA's underground elite riding over Ciecmate production.
The album is an exploration into the themes that Ciecmate shares on the microphone himself, as he lends is production talents to the likes of Koolism's Hau, Newsense, Brad Strut, Tame One, Termanology, Trials, Vents, Kinks Konekted, Fluent Form plus BTE mainstay Tornts and MANY more. Filled with introspective analysis, cautious tales regarding the current and future states of the world, political conscience, and plenty straight up raw debauchery, the album is strewn together with that signature Ciecmate sound.
